About North Memorial

ImPACT Assessments are provided by North Memorial Rehabilitation Services. We're a division of North Memorial Health Care, a full-service health care network serving residents throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Based in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, our organization includes:
- North Memorial Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center
- Primary care and specialty care clinics
- More than two dozen ground and air medical transportation sites

Community Work and Involvement

Through our outreach efforts to bring ImPACT baseline assessments to local schools, we have administered over 1,000 baseline tests. We make the screening very affordable at just $5.

As a Level I Trauma Center, we have full-time staff who coordinate an injury prevention program. Ongoing efforts include community education related to child passenger restraint safety, water safety and use of bicycle helmets. In fact, we recently fitted and distributed 7,000 free children's bicycle helmets during the Minnesota State Fair.

ImPACT History:

North Memorial schedules pre-injury and post-injury ImPACT assessments by request and as a standard part of concussion treatment through our Emergency Department. We've also begun offering ImPACT through outreach to local schools where young athletes receive a baseline screening that can serve as a valuable pre-injury point of reference should they ever suffer a concussion.

In addition to pre- and post-injury ImPACT assessments, North Memorial's larger Concussion Management Program includes team-based care and recovery planning involving:
- Patients and their families
- Family physicians
- Athletic trainers and coaches
- Other experts as needed, such as speech language pathologists, physical therapists, neuropsychologists and academic professionals
