About St. Elizabeth Healthcare Sports Medicine Center

St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine is dedicated to providing a variety of services for active individuals and athletes. Our center combines the expertise of Dr. Michael J. Miller, Sports Medicine Specialist, with outstanding physical therapy and athletic training services.

Michael J. Miller, M.D. is a sports medicine specialist and has been the Medical Director of St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine since its inception in 1989. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in 1988. He holds a current certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. In 1998, he served as team physician at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York. Dr. Miller enjoys treating the medical, psychological and nutritional needs of the active individual. He also has a special interest in the treatment of concussions.


Community Work and Involvement

Dr. Miller serves as the team physician to Thomas More College and Scott High School. He is also the medical director and oversees the medical coverage of our outreach athletic trainers covering 13 area high schools, the Florence Freedom Baseball Team, Kings Soccer Team, MJM trampoline and tumbling and Top Flight Gymnastics.
Dr. Miller is currently an active member of the Kentucky Medical Association committee on physical education and medical aspects of sports.


ImPACT History:

St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine has been using ImPact since the summer of 2010. Dr. Miller and his staff have received training in the administration and interpretation of ImPact. Dr. Miller has been managing concussions for area high school and college athletes who sustain a concussion since the clinic opened in 1989.
