About the Good Shepherd Brain Injury Program
The clinical management of an athlete who has sustained a concussion often requires consultation with a neuropsychologist or professional familiar with post-concussion symptoms and the recovery process. The Brain Injury Program at Good Shepherd is offering assistance in the use of ImPACT, a neuropsychological test instrument used to monitor cognitive recovery after a concussion. This instrument can be used to both establish baseline measures and manage the recovery process. Clinical consultation by a Good Shepherd neuropsychologist is also available to assist an athlete who is experiencing prolonged symptoms. This can include monitoring academic progress and making recommendations for specific remedial interventions.
